Pallid sturgeons are a endangered type of ray-finned fish. They are native to the waters of Missouri and the Mississippi river. The pallid sturgeon is closely related to the shovelnose sturgeon but it is much larger, averaging about 30-60 inches.The pallid sturgeon is the largest freshwater species in North America. The pallid Sturgeon is from the Cretaceous period and has remained virtually unchanged for over 70 million years. Pallid sturgeon have a long lifespan, usually 50 to maybe 100 years!
